The Journey – A Poem

Please don’t cry for me
my soul has been set free
like the first rays of the rising sun
my journey has just begun

Dry your eyes, love
save your tears
I have no need for them here
where there is no pain
there are no fears

No longer bound by any mortal coil
free at last of the shell ‘neath the soil
on angels’ wings I now fly
shining with the stars in the night sky

Live life as if today was your last
worry not about the future or the past
I’ll always walk with you, across every mile
whenever you feel a little lost
just close your eyes and remember my smile
