Starting the Weight Loss Journey with Medifast

Disclosure: I receive free product in order to evaluate and comment on my experiences on the Medifast Program. Medifast products and the Medifast Program are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or illness. Any medical improvements noted while on the program are related to weight loss in general, and not to Medifast products or programs.
When you feel like a Weeble, it's time for some weight loss.

Weebles wobble but they don’t fall down. They also can’t climb a flight of stairs without feeling like they’re going to die.

There used to be a time, in my twenties, when I actually couldn’t gain weight. Those days are long gone.

Now, in my forties, my body type is what I would classify as Weeble-esque.

Yep. It’s Time.

I recently posted a picture of myself with my youngest son. What I didn’t mention is that the first time I saw the picture, I glanced at it and said, “Who’s the fat guy with Caleb? Oh…”

Yeah, it’s time to lose some weight. Fortunately, I’ve got a good support system. On the exercise side of things, my friend, Josh, has begun training me at our local gym. And on the nutrition side, Dawn and I have started using the Medifast Program.

Medifast is nice because it takes all the guesswork out of nutrition. Let’s face it, if I were any good at this nutrition thing, I wouldn’t look and feel like 41-year-old Tim ate 25-year-old Tim. So having an easy-to-follow plan, with the meals already packaged for me, is making my transition to a healthier lifestyle a no-brainer.

The Goals Are Simple

I don’t have an ideal weight that I want to get down to. I mean, sure I’ve got a weight range in my head, but it’s really more about feeling good again. So instead, I’ve set some pretty practical weight loss goals for myself:

  • Have a manageable number of chins
  • Be able to buy medium t-shirts again without Dawn (rightfully) suggesting I get a large, instead
  • Use the elliptical machine at the gym without feeling like I need a bra
Yay! Results!

I’m happy to report that I’m already seeing results from my first week. After three trips to the gym and two days on the Medifast Program, I’m down three pounds. I also have more energy than any couch potato gamer has a right to. It’s definitely an encouraging indicator that I’m on the right track.

Follow Along

I’ll be posting weekly updates as I travel my weight loss journey. I hope you’ll follow along and maybe leave an encouraging comment now and then. Be sure to follow Dawn’s journey, too! And if you’re feeling a bit Weeblish yourself, you can start your own journey to feeling good again by taking advantage of this special offer:
