Shadow Boxer – A Poem

He steps into the ring
hands tied behind his back
eyes blindfolded
feet shackled

He has no way to fight
only a faith in what is meant to be
a heart full of hope
a will to succeed

He knows not the outcome
his opponent is a mystery
no guarantees
only unknowns

He steps into the ring
always the dreamer
the fighter
the shadow boxer
