Pros and Cons of the Xbox One and PlayStation 4

For this week’s Teen Thursday, I was asked to list my biggest pros and cons for the upcoming Xbox One and PlayStation 4 video game consoles. Here they are, in no particular order.

  • The Xbox One has Skype, so you can talk to friends while playing games.
  • The Xbox One has Halo 5 as an exclusive, which is great. Here’s an interesting article about some leaked Halo 5 news and rumors.
  • The PS4 features the ability to stream straight to Twitch, which is perfect for livestreaming games like Halo and Call of Duty.

  • Neither console is backwardly compatible, meaning you won’t be able to play your old games on your new consoles.
  • Microsoft’s E3 presentation didn’t show off much for gaming.
  • The PlayStation 4 doesn’t allow recording for YouTube.
  • The Xbox One costs $100 more than the PlayStation 4.
