Love Unreturned – A Poem

A shadow crosses my heart
love unraveling
falling apart
questions unanswered
feelings ignored
only a game to some
to be put away when they’re bored
please open your eyes and see
look at me
I’m a man
not a boy
not a convenience
not a toy
I gave freely my love
my heart
my soul
while trying so hard
to keep them under control
when you’re playing with fire
you’re going to get burned
that flame has a name
it is…
Love Unreturned
