It Wasn’t Enough – A Poem

She touched the world
but it wasn’t enough
She sacrificed her privacy
but it wasn’t enough
She healed and consoled
but it wasn’t enough
She bared her soul
but it wasn’t enough
If those who took her life gave theirs
it wouldn’t be enough
We mourn the greatest of losses
but we can’t mourn enough
A world of human beings
not human enough
Look within ourselves
when is enough enough?

In memory of Diana, Princess of Wales
1961 – 1997
May she find the peace that eluded her in life.
