The Good

One of the best remakes of one of the best turn-based strategy games, ever.

The Bad

The story is a bit thin, at times.

Bottom Line

Simply put, XCOM: Enemy Unknown is one of the best games I’ve played in a long time, and my pick for 2012 Game of the Year.

XCOM: Enemy Unknown

In the immortal words of Will Smith, “Oh no, you did NOT shoot that green $#!+ at me!”

XCOM: Enemy Unknown has been out for a while now, but I’ve never officially reviewed it. With the iPad version newly released, I figured it was important to let you, know whether or not I think you should buy it.

Yes, yes you should.

Simply put, XCOM:Enemy Unknown is one of the best games I’ve played in a long time, and my pick for 2012 Game of the Year. It’s a reboot of the 1994 turn-based strategy game, UFO: Enemy Unknown (also known as X-COM: UFO Defense), that dominated my free time, nearly twenty years ago.

If you like games like Final Fantasy Tactics, Shining Force, and Fire Emblem, you need to give XCOM a try. As of this writing, it’s available for free for PlayStation Plus subscribers!
