Weight Loss Week 5: First Goal Reached!

Disclosure: I receive free product in order to evaluate and comment on my experiences on the Medifast Program. Medifast products and the Medifast Program are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or illness. Any medical improvements noted while on the program are related to weight loss in general, and not to Medifast products or programs.

It’s really easy to find reasons not to work out. On Monday, my workout partner, Josh, texted to let me know he was sick. So obviously I couldn’t go to the gym, right? On Wednesday, Josh was on the mend, but had a prior engagement and couldn’t make it to the gym. Again, I decided there was no way I could work out on my own. Today, Josh was busy again. I almost didn’t go to the gym today, either.

Honestly, the only thing that prompted me to actually go to the gym today, was the need to write this post. Wanting to get an accurate weigh-in, I begrudgingly headed to the gym by myself. Obviously my heart wasn’t in it, as you can see by this Instagram photo I snapped, when I realized I had worn two different shoes.

Once I was at the gym however, I decided I might as well make the most of it and get in a good workout. I bumped up the weights to 93% of my body weight. By the end of the workout, I was beat. but I’m really glad I went. If I had stayed home, I wouldn’t have discovered that I lost another 3 pounds, bringing my total weight loss to 13 pounds. I’m almost half way to my goal!

Speaking of goals, back in week 2, I mentioned that one of my goals was to comfortably wear my wedding ring again. I’m very happy to say that I have been wearing my wedding ring (comfortably) for about a week now!

Lots of progress was made this week, including the affirmation that I am able to work out on my own, even if it’s not my first choice.

As always, thanks for sharing my journey with me. Be sure to check out Dawn’s journey, and come back next week for another report!
