Weight Loss Week 2: A Muscle! Plus 2 New Goals & A Tip

Disclosure: I receive free product in order to evaluate and comment on my experiences on the Medifast Program. Medifast products and the Medifast Program are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or illness. Any medical improvements noted while on the program are related to weight loss in general, and not to Medifast products or programs.

I feel ya, cat.

First off, thank you to everyone who left encouraging comments on last week’s post. It is much appreciated.

The exercise and nutrition are still paying off. Since my last post, I’ve lost another 3 pounds. That makes 6 pounds in a little under 2 weeks. I’m now able to fit into a pair of old jeans that have been patiently hanging out in my drawer for the last several months. Also, I discovered I have biceps. This was an unexpected turn of events. I’m curious to find out whether any other muscles are hiding somewhere on my flabby body. Time will tell.

I successfully stayed on the Medifast plan this week without straying, despite some temptation. Speaking of temptation…

A Tip

If you’re on a weight loss plan, I strongly recommend that you don’t watch television commercials. I’ve estimated that about 1 in 3 commercials are for some sort of food product or restaurant. I felt especially susceptible at night, after I’d eaten all my meals for the day.

To spare yourself the commercial-driven cravings, either record your regular shows so that you can skip through the commercials, or if you’re watching live TV, get up and do something during the commercial breaks. That way, you’re not getting inundated with images of food you can’t have, and you’re adding a little activity during an otherwise sedentary TV viewing session. Two birds, one stone.

2 New Goals

In addition to the goals I set last week, there are a couple of things I want to get out of my weight loss journey.

  • Be able to (comfortably) wear my wedding ring again
  • Overcome the epic struggle that is putting on my socks

Here, watch this safe-for-work Louis CK bit about putting on socks, and you’ll understand my plight:

Please continue to follow Dawn’s and my weight loss journey each week, and keep those comments coming. They really do help with the motivation!

And if you’re tired of fighting with your socks, make sure to check out this special offer, for my readers:
