Weight Loss Report Week 12: The Pumpkin Curse

Disclosure: I receive free product in order to evaluate and comment on my experiences on the Medifast Program. Medifast products and the Medifast Program are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or illness. Any medical improvements noted while on the program are related to weight loss in general, and not to Medifast products or programs.

My name is Tim and I’m a pumpkin-holic. This time of year is especially dangerous for any sort of weight loss routine, simply because I’m a big fan of all things pumpkin. Pumpkin spice lattes, pumpkin bars, pumpkin pie. I must have it. My friend, Shannon (Happy Birthday, Shannon!), refers to this as the “Cult of Pumpkin.”

So when Dawn brought home a pumpkin pie a few days ago, I was sure this was going to be the first week, since starting my weight loss journey, that I was going to see the scale go up instead of down.

You can imagine my surprise when I stepped on the scale yesterday and discovered I’d lost another two pounds. That brings my total weight loss to 20 pounds, and puts me just seven pounds away from my goal.

This just proves that the 80/20 rule really does work, and that you don’t have to completely deny yourself the things you enjoy in order to maintain a bit of discipline.

Hopefully, that will help me navigate the upcoming holidays. I do love me some eggnog.
