Kids today are growing up and living in an electronics age. Gone are the corded phones and recording songs off of the radio onto a cassette tape. Remember those days? Now it seems like every kid has a cell phone or other handheld device.
It makes sense then, living in this digital and electronics age, that other devices also grow with us.
After Braces Care
Our oldest daughter, Abbie, has a beautiful new smile. She had braces on for two years and has had them off for a year. She’s one that is actually very good about brushing regularly. But is she actually brushing properly and thoroughly?
She thought so, but after having two cavities, maybe not. We needed to step up her after braces care.
She’s been using the new Philips Sonicare FlexCare toothbrush for a couple of weeks, and she loves it. Now she can continue brushing regularly while also getting real-time feedback through the Philips Sonicare app.
The app is free and easy to download. We have iPhones, so we grabbed it right from the App Store on Abbie’s phone. The app can let her know how well she’s doing at brushing, if she’s missed any spots, and even how much pressure she’s applying.
There are a lot of options with the app. Abbie likes to go in and see her progress every time she brushes. It’s very easy to use.
Step 1: Connect your Philips Sonicare FlexCare toothbrush to the Sonicare app.
Step 2: Choose your preferred mode and intensity.
Step 3: Start brushing and follow the guidance from the app.
Step 4: View your progress, summary and coaching tips.
The app will also notify you when it’s time to replace the brush head, and is even able to send a progress report to your dentist! How awesome is that? This has been perfect for Abbie’s after braces care.
We picked up Abbie’s new Philips Sonicare FlexCare toothbrush at Target. They are located right in the toothbrush aisle near the health and beauty section.
So now that Abbie has this awesome new toothbrush, we ran into a little problem. Our bathroom is small. We have zero counter space, only one outlet, and no convenient place for her toothbrush to sit and charge. It’s a mess.
While we were at Target, we also looked for some storage solutions. We found some great options that allowed us to customize to what we needed.
You saw the before picture above. Here is the after.
This is a very simple solution that is easy to install. There is one board in the back that you mount right to your wall. I chose to use anchors when installing because of our plaster walls.
Once you have the mounting board up, you choose which hardware you’d like. There are a couple different basket sizes and hooks, as well as different colors and finishes to choose from.
Because I was working in a very small space, I made sure to add the baskets to the mounting bar before I installed it on the wall. Otherwise, if you have room, you can add your basket (or hooks) to the bar after it’s installed. You can also change them out afterwards. It’s very versatile.
We all love how our new bathroom basket solution turned out. There’s now plenty of space for her new toothbrush.
